Transformers Animated art study

I think Transformers Animated was the first version of Transformers I watched. I remember I was super invested in the story. And one day it was just over. Devastating. What is worse, I don't think I saw the whole story as a kid because it wasn't aired in my country.

I genuinely cannot remember the story. I watched it too long ago. But I remember loving it. So, nostalgia won and I decided to study the style of TFA. What is funny, I was also obsessed with the Ben10 done in this style. Idk, I can't pinpoint why? Maybe its the clear shapes of characters. But I do have to admit two things.

1. I don't like the chins.

2. I hate how they did Ratchet. I absolutely hate his design in this version.

No hate to the producers. These are just my preferences. And I still enjoyed the show. Now as an artist I have a newfound appreciation for the style. I think I learned a lot trying to recreate the style myself. I suggest anybody who feels stuck to go back to their childhood and copy the style of their favorite show.

I mind end up rewatching the story. Since I forgot everything, it will feel like the first time.

See you next time! Bye!

Artist journal Stopmotion adventures

I have been the biggest fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Coraline since I can't remember when. I feel in love with stopmotion at first sight. There's something about it that feels like magic. It feel real. It makes me feel like I can touch that world. And technically, you can, cause everything is real!

So obviously, in my quest of being artsy and crafty I began doing that too!

Hold you horses. Mine looks like...this.

But by all means, its stopmotion. It's rough. I am not expert in it. And I love doing it. And by trying these videos that are a couple of seconds I have a newfound appreciation for the people that work on stopmotion movies. It's art, passion, dedication, hard work. And some sort of black witchcraft for sure.

So, yeah, it's a neat little thing I am learning about. More on it in a proper post.

Constructiprowl wedding

The Constructicons have a special place in my heart for a very silly reason. But they are there! So obviously, I am looking forward to collecting them all. But in the meantime, the ones I already collected married Prowl!

See you next time!

ATC - artist trading cards

Once again, while scrolling on the amazing TikTok, I came across ATC. ATC means artist trading card and...yeah, now I need to make some. Is anybody surprised I use any excuse to make small things?

So here I am, with my finest work I have ever done, ready to trade cards. That's the post. Oke, not only that. Let's talk about the process.

So after scrolling and making a bit of research I found out the basics of ATC (and ACEO but more on this in another post). They must be 2.5 on 3.5 inch or 6,4 on 8.9 cm. That is a very specific size. If I am not wrong, it's the size of a Pokemon card or Magic the gathering card. I had some pads of paper that I wasn't really using, so this gave me the perfect opportunity to cut them up and repurpose them.

I am a firm believer in using what you already have. I have crafted all my life, so, naturally, you gather a lot of stuff that you can use for more than one project. Any time I see a new project I look at what I already have before rushing to buy new stuff. In this case I had everything I needed:

-paper that I cut to size

-watercolors (my medium of choice)

-liners

-a cutter for round corners (gives the cards a neater look)

And I started drawing! I didn't plan much. I just went with whatever I felt would look good. The cat was done with a certain friend in mind. She will definitely get this card. I think this is an adorable way to exchange art with friends and other artists. I can see myself doing more of these miniature paintings. I think I also need to buy a binder for them.

Thank you for reading about my little adventure of finding what ATCs are. Let me know in a comment if you ever traded or seen such trading cards.

See you next time!

(ACEO coming soon)

Artist journal #3

Hello everyone! Today was a crochet day. Sometimes you need a break from drawing but not from arts and crafts. Thankfully, I am always having a long list of things I want to try. So today I made a purple bear that loves strawberries. And she was made using this tutorial link

The tutorial was very easy to follow. I think it's a great beginner project. I am by no means an expert, so I appreciate an easy to follow video. I took some artistic liberties with the felt.

She is now a cute bag charm thanks to the fact I had a couple of keyrings laying around. I think bag charms are a super cute. I am guilty of having waaaaaay to many accessories on my current bag. And all of them are gifts! I have very talented friends.

Next week my dummy 13 figures should arrive one by one and I might review them here for everyone. My main concern is, honestly, how loose or tight the joints will be. I hope it won't be too bad and I will be able to turn them into ocs. But more on this after they arrive.

See you next time! Byeeeeee!

Blokees Transformers Defender flower card series

Since I took the pics I said I would love to be able to put them all in the same place so people can easily find them. It's gonna be this post. The rules stay the same. Do not commercialize, don't use without credit, and let me know if you use them.

Let me know in the comments if I reach anyone in the vast void of the internet!
